I grew up on a farm near Happy, Texas. After graduating from Happy High School as Salutatorian I enrolled at West Texas A&M University. Upon graduation in 2000 with a BS in Biology, I enrolled into classes at Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, Texas. I completed my degree work for a Doctor of Chiropractic with Magna Cum Laude honors in 2004.
While attending TCC, I began training in acupuncture. I continued this training with a Diplomate of Medical Acupuncture from the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture in 2010. The human body and treatment thereof have always been of interest to me. I knew I wanted to be a doctor of some kind… maybe a cardiologist or orthopedist. But I developed an interest in chiropractic after my step-father got results with Chiropractic care. I was drawn to the idea that chiropractic helps the body perform its in-born ability of self-healing by removing interferences to the control system—the nervous system.
In college, I worked in an area hospital as a pharmacy technician. I was amazed at the amount of medication people were taking… some to treat a problem, others to treat the side effects of the first one. Engaging in this kind of care was not my idea of helping people. That’s when I knew for sure that I wanted to become a Chiropractor!!
I have been married to my wonderful wife, Angela for 19 years. We have 4 growing children and 2 dogs. I enjoy watching movies, listening to classical/instrumental music, and traveling when I can. I have been active with the Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and the Kwahadi Dancers over the years.
